When will I receive my 1099, 1099-R, or other annual tax forms?
Typically forms for retirement accounts, like IRAs, arrive in late January or early February. For non-retirement accounts like Individual, Joint, and Trust accounts, forms typically arrive Mid-February into early March.

Who will send me my tax forms?
These forms, such as Form 1099-R or a ‘Consolidated’ Form 1099, will come directly from your account custodian, such as Fidelity Investments or Charles Schwab.
-
Will my tax forms always come in the mail?
No, not always. You will need to log into your financial accounts to check your document delivery preferences online. If you have selected online or electronic delivery, the custodian will not send you a physical copy and it is your responsibility to download a copy from your online account, print it, and get it to your tax preparer. You may also check your email to see if the custodian emailed you a link to the forms. (Be sure to check your email’s spam folder or junk mail folder if you do not see a notification in your email inbox.)
